Due to the changeable weather, kids are easily to get sick. Please do make sure to wash hands before eating and do a change of clothes after entering home to a clean set. TAKE CARE!!
We are into the second month of the new style learning--lots of seat works with different texts. Our daily schedule is the same as every week. The amazing difference was that we started doing the morning prayer in the classroom beginning September 1st. We headed back to classroom around 8:20am to unpack our backpacks. We were great in separating things into different basket. then to sit down to read our September mixed letters. We would stand to prayer position at 8:30am.
For phonics, we were done with the listening of beginning sounds with h, m, k last week and into the j, m, g this week. Please do review the take home ones regularly.
For science, we were into the living and nonliving things, which we had the sorting activity back in K1. This year, we did a reading in the science text and after the searching of living and nonliving words and picture drawn, we worked on an activity of cutting and placed them into the living and nonliving categories. More, we did a reading of words related to short vowels. We traced and read out by ourselves, and they were all living things. Interesting!!
For Social Studies, we talked about what rules to follow at home and school.....kids do know the good virtues. Those concepts just need to be repeated and reinforced in daily life as possible.
In ECA yesterday, we had a buddy reading time with the Pre-K kids on the grass. It was so hot and dry that we got to sit on under the shady tree and read to the Pre-K friends. They were so cute!!

In art, we were reinforced the three primary colors by doing a hand print color wheels. We put one of the hand in one of the color and then rub it and stamped the color onto paper. Look at the fun we had!!
We got to play at different centers during the wait.

In reading, we were into the reading and listening of the spelling words. These words were the first set. We needed to listen to the sounds and try to find out who made the sound of each letter,
In math, we were into the counting and writing of number 15. We did the counting with stickers and put them in a group of 10 and then the ones.
In PE, Ms. Parker, took us to the gym to run and play games with her.
In the afternoon, we had a special individual learning time. We made books, stamped our names with letters and spelling words., tried to write in the book, and counted with the counting beads.
